So Much To Do, So Little Time!

Busy, busy, I'm so busy! Yes mi bloggonians, I have been so busy for the past couple of days with school, work, business, personal life! Whoii too much to handle!

So school is on in full force, I have assignments to to hand in and labs to do and all are due on Thursday. Then there is the major project that I haven't started yet, and there is an initial presentation on the project in about two weeks time. This is also compounded by the fact that I honestly am not in the school mood as yet. I feel like I'm forcing myself up a steep hill. I feel so stressed! But I have reached too far to give up now, with the help of God I will make it through.

Anyway, mi nah tarry too long (I am not staying too long), as I am pretty tired right about now. I'll try to read your blogs throughout the course of the week and make a decent post as soon as I can. Until then enjoy this little clip called, "Dutty Wine Gone Wrong". Likkle more mi peeps and have a good week.

Ordering Pizza in 2010

I got an email from one of my coworkers, it's really funny, but a bit worrying based on the advancements in IT in the past decade. Check it out:

Subject: Ordering Pizza in 2010

This is funny, but the scary part about it is that it's probably not too far away from being reality.

Want to know how to order a pizza in 2010?

Turn up the volume. . . Click the link below and see. . .

listen closely. . . watch the pointer carefully!

This seems so true, it's frightening!

Patties Anyone?

Patties have been a part of the Jamaican cuisine many years now, and countless persons can be seen chowing down on a patty or two, and sometimes with it's side kick the coco bread, at lunch time all over the island. This meal is preferred by many, not just because it is a balanced all-in-one meal, but because it's a bit more economical than buying a box food or a combo meal at a fast food store.

For those who don't know a patty is typically seasoned meat (normally ground beef) or vegetable (calaloo or cabbage) baked in a crust. For many years the patty was made from beef and for the non-meat eaters their was the veggie patty, made from calaloo or cabbage mixed with carrots. However, the patty evolved when the chicken patty entered the market, but that was just the beginning of the patty explosion here in Jamaica.

Today, the patty evolution has given the consumer more choices that he/she can handle! No more boring beef patty for you! These days you can treat your taste buds and long bellies with an arsenal of different types of patties, which include:

  • Beef Patty (stewed grounded beef filling)

  • Curried Chicken Patty (grouned curried chicken)

  • Stewed Chicken Patty (grounded stewed chicken)

  • Mixed Vegetable Patty (Steamed vegetables)

  • Lobster Patty (grounded lobster)

  • Shrimp Patty (grounded shrimp)

  • Power Patty (grounded , stewed soy veggie-meat)

  • Cheese Patty (stewed grounded beef with melted cheddar cheese)

  • Mega Patty or Full House Patty (stewed grounded beef with lettuce and tomato)

  • Mega Cheese Patty (stewed grounded beef, melted cheddar cheese with lettuce and tomato)

Yes the patty has certainly come a long way, and with it's evolution it is still one of Jamaica's favorite lunch time meals. Suh if yuh in Jamaica and your belly growls for a meal and the pocket is a bit low, you can take your pick of one of the three major patty restaurants on the island, Juici Patties, Tastee Patties and Mother's Patties or at a tuck shop on the corner and grab yourself a patty and a juice! The Patty one of Jamaica's favorite all-in-one meal. Hungry? Patties anyone?

Windscreen Cleaner or Filthy Rich?

I know almost everyone of us who drives have come across a windscreen cleaner (window washer) trying to clean our windscreens for a small fee. I do allow some to clean mi windscreens when I need it and give them a change but there are some here in Jamaica that tend to just attack your windscreen whether you want it cleaned or not. Usually when they do that I just feel obligated to donate a few &@#^!*#&!

I have heard on a popular Monday night radio programme that these windscreen cleaners do make a decent change at times, even more money that a person in a so-called good job makes, on a good day. That leave you to wonder, could this video be a true story? (You may need broadband for this)

Disclaimer: It is not the intension of the Author of Stunner's Afflictions to discourage drivers from giving a contribution to the Windscreen Cleaners (Window Cleaners), or conveying this video as factual. This is purely for entertainment purposes only.

Extreme Piercing

I don't generally have a problem with piercing. I love it when a woman pierces her ears, and has a beautiful pair or earrings to adorn her and complement her features. Although I wouldn't want my woman to pierce her belly button or pierce her ears a second time, I don't mind seeing a woman with such piercings. Today a lot of persons pierce various body parts, including the places that don't regularly see the light of day. Both male and female indulge in this form of adornment, which at times does complement their features.

However, there are some who definitely take this whole body piercing thing a bit...wait...not a bit...too damn far! Check out these pics I got in an email. (Be warned, some may find these images a bit disturbing...I did!)

This is not adorning the body, this is mutilating ones self. I personally think this form of piercing is ridiculous and disgusting. I'm looking at the photos and wonder how the hell these guys eat and if they have a brain! Maybe they lacked they attention they wanted and they feel this is the best way the could get it or they are just plain crazy. But I can't see any reason why a sane human being would want to do this to himself.

I'm not the one to dictate what anyone does to his or her body, but sometimes people go too far, or at least what is too far in my book. And this is definitely one of these cases!

I have once again posted a new photo on Exotic Island Photos, my favorite photo of Red Hills, check it out!

Sweetness For The Eyes

Another week draws to a close, and the month drags on. The end of the month seems so far off, the price one has to pay for getting pay early in December. Now it's days of starvation and the unslaught of the effects of paying the bills, This is one month I can't wait to see come to an end. No plans for the wekend, I have been held captive by work, or should I say infected by WORK, for the entire weekend. I can't wait to get an entire weekend off, hopefully that will be before retirement!

Until then I have to keep focused, keep my mind keep my eyes fixed and keep dreaming about... no not payday or a weekend off...the eyecandy! That's what this post is about, my first eyecandy for 2007. My, my, my... (Drooling). Another hot shot of Khrysti Hill, dah girl yah have it! Sorry ladies the new year will not be bringing any post of half naked men! Unless it's me!

Enjoy your weekend!

To PA and Back

Last week I went to Portland for a few days, not as long as I had wanted to, but I guess it will have to suffice. It was good going back to the hometown after some seven months, wow that's a long time! You see, I don't go to Port Antonio anymore, as my parents have migrated. So I pretty much don't have that compelling reason to go anymore. I do miss the lush green of Portland, the sudden bursts of torrential rain, the beautiful white sand beaches, and the clean country air. But I guess not enjoying it as frequently as I used to makes it so much more special.

One thing I must admit though, the road to Port Antonio nuh pretty at all, arguably it's the wost road in Jamaica! It is even worse than before now that they are building a highway from Ocho Rios in St. Ann to Port Antonio. I guess I can't complain, at least it will be good one day. The construction is slated to be completed in a 2008, but yuh know how it go inna Jamaica, add four more years to that! But the treacherous journey was well worth taking, as I had a wonderful time in Portland. I went to Bonnie View hotel, not a hotel anymore, and enjoyed the breathtaking view of Port Antonio (captured above by my Kodak Z650). then it was off to Frenchman's Cove and had a whale of a time on the beach and also in the freezing water of the river that flows into the sea at one end of the beach. I have posted a few of the many photos I took while I was there on Exotic Island Photos. My trip to PA was great, like an escape to paradise.

Now I'm back in Kingston and back at work, and soon I'll be back in school. Damn it, reality just have a sudden way of ra.. kicking you in the ass! But such is life, the most we can do is cherish these short moments of pleasure until the next break from the harsh realities of life comes around again. No resolutions for the New Year, just goals I hope to accomplish, and dreams that I want to come true, so I'll be praying for the health and strength from God to carry me through another eleven plus months.

Warning!!!

I don't usually do this, but I just had to inform you all about this important warning that has been issued:

There is a dangerous virus being passed around electronically, orally, and by hand. This virus is called Worries-Overloading- Recreational- Killer (WORK).
If you receive WORK from any of your colleagues, your boss, or anyone else via any means DO NOT TOUCH IT. This virus will wipe out your private life completely.
If you should come into contact with WORK, take two good friends to the nearest grocery store. Purchase the antidote known as Work-Isolating- Neutralizer- Extract (WINE) or Bothersome-Employer -Elimination- Rebooter (BEER). Take the antidote repeatedly until WORK has been completely eliminated from your system.
You should forward this warning to 5 friends. If you do not have 5 friends, you have already been infected and WORK is controlling your life.

I hope the New Year has been good so far fo you. Krazy things happening now, I'll write a decent post when I am in the frame of mind to do so, but I just had to give you all a likkle suppin' suppin' till then.
